New How To Sail Book by McGraw-Hill

BookSailTodayI am pleased to announce the very latest learn to sail book has been published by MCGraw-Hill Education/International Marine.  It is called Learn To Sail Today-From Novice to Sailor in One Week.

This book is my life's work.  Ive spent over six years writing and refining it.  At every step, I've made every effort to simplify and clarify the complexities of sailing.  Everyone should try sailing, but sometimes it is too intimidating.  The book is only 209 pages long.  It uses a strong, clear voice to guide the beginner.  It covers safety at sea, how to steer, (and later steering by compass) how to adjust sails, seasickness remedies, docking, four essential knots, tacking, rules of the road, spinnaker handling, dealing with sudden storms, jibing, sailing etiquette, anchoring, winch usage, navigation, tides (for the coastal sailor), buying your own boat, with appendices also for medical emergencies, sailing emergencies, equipping and maintaining your boat, and a simplified explanation of how sails actually move the boat, and much more.

I'll be donating a copy to the club library at the next meeting.
