Well, August was quite the month! The weather proved fickle, or maybe normal for August, with bouts of extreme heat followed by beautiful temperate days and short but drenching rains and thunderstorms. In spite of the weather, we had three enjoyable sails and social gatherings:
August 14 out of Kenosha
August 21 out of Monroe St.
August 28 out of Racine, WI, as part of a "long distance" sail
Please read the fun & interesting reports of these sails in the Communique. The days are getting shorter which, of course, means that Fall is on the not-too-distant horizon. Hopefully, we can take advantage of this ideal early Fall sailing for our remaining four sails. Our second trailer boat outing is the first Saturday of October. Fall sailing on Lake Geneva is a real treat with reduced crowds and steady winds and trailer boats provide a different experience and learning opportunity. As ever, my thanks to the skippers who generously volunteer their time and boats and thanks to the cooperation and enthusiasm of our many crew members. So, sign up now and enjoy the last of the season!
